This service is ideal for individuals with less complex relationship and/or asset structures, who appreciate the convenience of creating their estate plan online. Generally this service is most appropriate for single individuals, married couples with no children, married couples with adult children and for most people with less than $1M in assets. This service consists of a Will, Advance Health Care Directive, and Durable Power of Attorney. Married couples will receive two (2) of each of these documents. Why are all these documents important?First, these documents work together to ensure that your estate is protected both prior to your death and after you pass away. The Advance Health Care Directive that your health care wishes are known and followed by your Health Care Agent. The Durable Power of Attorney empowers someone to manage and maintain your financial assets when you are incapable of making financial decisions for yourself. Thus, both of these documents protect you while you are alive. Your Will takes over once you pass away. Your Will ensures that your directives are followed, your children are cared for by the people you select, and that your assets provide the most value to the people and institutions you care about. How much is my "total net worth?" Do not assume that you have less than $1M in assets. Your net worth is the net of your assets and liabilities. However, when you consider the equity in your home, combined retirement plans, and other assets like Life Insurance proceeds, many of our clients find that they have more than they think!
